New Paragraph
An Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance to support on-site learning for students traveling to Canberra. The Parliament And Civics Education Rebate (PACER) is offered to all schools, and is dependant on the distance from the school to Canberra GPO, who met the eligibility and requirements of the program.
EducaTours of Australia help organise all of the necessary paperwork before, during and after the tour to ensure your school and it's students receive available PACER rebates. This includes customising a trip itinerary to include all mandatory institutions (Parliament House Guided Tour, Museum of Australian Democracy - Old Parliament House, National Electoral Education Centre & Australian War Memorial) and alternative institutions should mandatory activities be fully booked (Government House, High Court of Australia, National Archives of Australia, National Portrait Gallery, National Museum of Australia, National Capital Authority, National Gallery of Australia & National Film and Sound Archive's).
Is the PACER rebate worth the hassle? Absolutely! The mandatory and alternative programs required to meet the eligibility criteria align specifically with the current civics and citizenships units from the national curriculum being taught in class. Students traveling on a National Capital Explorer Tour will gain hands-on and interactive learning which ties into in classroom teaching completed in preparation for the visit to Canberra. PACER rebate is available on a per student basis and with the rising costs of travel expenses every small contribution can help to relive the burden on schools and families looking to support their children.
